Toowoomba uses Queensland's competitive electricity market. Water is supplied by Toowoomba Regional Council, and NBN coverage has improved significantly in recent years across most of the city.
Toowoomba is in south-east Queensland, served by Energex for electricity distribution. You choose your retailer: options include Origin Energy, AGL, EnergyAustralia, Alinta Energy. Compare at Energy Made Easy (energymadeeasy.gov.au). Toowoomba's elevated location (700m+ above sea level) means cooler winters, heating costs can be higher than in Brisbane.
Toowoomba has natural gas distribution. Retailers include Origin and AGL. Gas heating is popular given the cooler climate. Compare on Energy Made Easy.
Toowoomba Regional Council manages water supply for Toowoomba and surrounding towns. The council operates one of Australia's most advanced water recycling programs, the Western Corridor Recycled Water Project. Transfer accounts at tr.qld.gov.au. Bills are issued quarterly.
Toowoomba has strong NBN coverage across the urban area, with most suburbs on FTTN or FTTC. Newer estates (Highfields, Glenvale) may have FTTP. Rural areas of the Darling Downs may have fixed wireless or satellite. Check at nbnco.com.au. Top providers: Aussie Broadband, Superloop, TPG, Telstra.
